What is a true God?(1)

What is a true God?

All over the world, there are beings called "gods" from the ancient times.

All kinds of objects were worshiped.  It seems that there was a desire to seek God.  If so, the existence of God already existed before the existence of human mankind.

God, who was vaguely understood, revealed Himself to mankind.  He is the God of the Bible, He is spiritual. "God is a Spirit" (John 4:24).  Being spiritual means non-physical… we can't see or touch Him. There is no object of Him in the church.

Once a young foreign Catholic came to the church and asked for the statues of Jesus and Mary.  He was disappointed and went home when I said that Baptist church does not have statues of Jesus or Mary.

The statues that you can see and touch may give people a sense of security, but the Ten Commandments in the Bible say, "You shall not make any image, nor shall you make the image of anything that is above in heaven, below in the earth, or in the waters under the earth. Do not bow down to them or serve them. (Exodus 20:4-5).

I feel that if we are not careful, there is a risk that we will worship the image or the statue of Jesus and not Jesus, Himself.  The Baptist church says, "Those who worship God must worship in spirit and truth."  This is what we practice.  (Pastor)
