For Those Who Will Be Baptized and Join the Church
"For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” (Romans 10:10)
"Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." (Mark 16:16).
Church is also a confessional community based on "faith". Church members have Jesus Christ as their head and as members, they have fellowship with each other through faith. Church members listen to the faith of new members, confirm whether it is basically the same and share the joy. For that reason, in order to be baptized and join the Funabashi church, one confesses his faith before God and the congregation.
Baptism means "to be immersed (deeply) in water" in Greek. This represents the resurrection of the old self to a new life with Christ who died, was buried and resurrected with Christ who was crucified. (Romans 6:1-14)
Confession of faith
The confession of faith is your statement of what you believe, so there's no need to think too hard about it. Don't worry about writing it well, just write it down your faith.
It needs to include the following basic points:
-God is love.
-I am a sinner before God.
-My sins were forgiven and I was saved at the cross of Jesus Christ.
-Christ was resurrected to complete salvation and gave me hope.
-I will walk in obedience to Christ.
-I promise God that I will cherish the church life, centered on Sunday worship, in order to be grateful for God's love and live in obedience to Christ.
In addition to the above, please briefly write down what motivated you to come to this church and what process you went through to make that decision to the extent that it is not a problem.
Please write your name and the date of your confession based on the Gregorian calendar, not the Japanese era name (ie, Reiwa). Lastly, please prepare so that you can make your testimony within 10 minutes.
