World Baptist Week of Prayer

World Baptist Week of Prayer

What is World Baptist Week of Prayer?  It was started in 1931 by the Women's Association (origin of the Women's Union) who inherited the faith of Lottie Moon Christmas Donation.  This was started by the Southern Baptist women in the United States to support Lottie Moon's mission in China.  It has been inherited as a central activity of Baptist women ever since. The period is from the last Sunday in November to the first Sunday in December, and the donation target amount and the usage are decided by a resolution of the general meeting. The Women's Union is the driving force and each women's association promotes prayer and donations in the work of churches, mission stations and dedicates them to the world mission work with prayer and vision. At the same time, it is also dedicated to the missionary activities of the Japan Baptist Convention both domestically and internationally.

Indonesia Mission: Missionaries Noguchi Hiuma and Noguchi Kana

Dispatched to Indonesia in September 2014, this is the fourth mission and the first year of the term (10 years).  Missionary Hiuma is in charge of theological education at the Indonesia Baptist Seminary, as approved by his religious leader visa. New connections are also being made, such as support for Indonesian students heading to Japan.

In addition, at Chandi Baptist Church, the two missionaries are involved in church formation and serve and collaborate with local churches. Missionary Nichiuma serves in English and Indonesian services and missionary Kana is in charge of the fellowship prayer meeting at the women's group. We would like to remember the work of both missionaries and pray together.
