What is a true worship?

What is a true worship?

When thinking about worship, Revelation chapters 4 and 5 give us some hints.

Chapter 4 describes the worship in heaven that John saw while in captivity.

Day and night, they cried out, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,

who was, who is, and who is to come."

Choirs from all sides join in, angels sing, and all join in the praise.

They cast their crowns before the throne and offer praise to the one to whom they offer worship, saying, "You are worthy, O Lord our God,

to receive glory, honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created."

Chapter 5 describes Christ the Lamb as "worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain to God with your own blood from every tribe and language, from every people and nation, and have made them kings and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on earth."

"Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power, riches, wisdom, might, honor, glory and blessing." "To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing, honor, glory and power for ever and ever." The created beings acknowledge their Maker, realize the Lamb's victory, and raise a roar of praise to God the Creator and God the Savior. This is worship.

Worship is a way of giving thanks to God and responding to God's love. (Pastor)
