Holy Week
Today marks the start of the Holy Week of the Christian calendar. This is a time to remember what happened between the time Jesus entered Jerusalem and the time he was crucified. The Gospels are full of papers on Jesus' suffering, crucifixion, and resurrection.
“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
Palm Sunday . . . Jesus rode his donkey and entered Jerusalem with his disciples. (Matthew 21:1-11)
Maundy Thursday . . . While Jesus was eating with his disciples, he got up, took off his cloak, took his towel, and wrapped it around his waist. And began to wash the feet of his disciples in a basin, and says to them: "Do you know what I have done to you?... Since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you must wash one another's feet." (John 13:1-15)
Last Supper . . . After the Last Supper on Friday, Jesus went out with his disciples. Then, along with Judas Iscariot, people with weapons appeared and Jesus was arrested. Jesus is interrogated and put to death for no good reason. Abandoned by his disciples, Jesus carried the cross alone and went to the place of execution called "Golgotha", where he was crucified along with two other criminals while being cursed by the people. After Jesus died, his body was placed in his tomb by some of his collaborators.
