Notice of Turkish/Syrian Earthquake Relief Assistance

The Japan Baptist Convention is currently requesting donations for the Turkey and Syria earthquakes.  We plan to send money to BWAid (Baptist World Aid), a member of the World Baptist Association (WBA), by the end of March. Therefore, the deadline for donations for our church is March 26th.

World Baptist Relief Agency Partners with Hungarian Baptist Aid to assist.

The Japan Baptist Convention will remit 500,000 yen from the Federation's disaster relief reserve fund.

　            From BWA about the Syria/Turkey earthquake

• To assist those leading the relief effort, including the Hungarian Baptist Aid team. Also, that those who are still alive may be rescued safely.

• May comfort be given to those who are grieving the loss of loved ones, and to those whose loved ones are missing.

• Provide housing, clothing, food and spiritual support for many displaced persons.

• For the millions of displaced people in Syria and Lebanon who are experiencing trauma and pain.

• Pray that the winter storms in the region will end so that relief efforts can continue unhindered.

• Pray for the continued grace so that churches and pastors in the area will be a source of support and encouragement.  May wisdom be given to those who are involved in disaster and decision-makers in Syria and Turkey, including leaders of the Syrian Baptist Convention, the Turkish Baptist Convention, the European Baptist Convention, and the BWAid.  May wisdom be given to the leaders of the Lebanese Association of Education/Social Development.
