As the coronavirus began to spread in Japan, our church declared a state of emergency.  For two months, we stopped all church services and gatherings.

I believed that we had to endure for two months, but after that I received similar requests to halt the services many times.  We did not know how long the situation will last, so we decided to take safety measures and resume the service. 

That is why, as a pastor, I studied about coronavirus and learned more about messenger RNA vaccines.  The government and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare provided information and promoted vaccination to the public.

However, I also learned that the information from the government was different from the media, such as TV, newspapers, regarding the safety of vaccines and was rarely covered by the public media. 

There has been some recent news about how the information was manipulated to increase the vaccination rates. "Weekly Shincho" (magazine) has picked up a series of special features and articles.  Japan has several drug (medicine) related incidents in the past.

This time, the new corona victim association (bereaved family members) has been formed.  This vaccine is the first to be adopted.  Since it is related to health and life, I think it is necessary to thoroughly assess the merits and demerits, risks and benefits, and vaccinate.
