Scripture:Mark15:21  Sermon title"Carry the Jesus’ Cross"

Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified. (15:15)
And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out to crucify him. (15:20)
They brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha (which means “the place of the skull”). (15:22)
They took Jesus to Golgotha to crucify Jesus.
It seemed that the executor himself was supposed to carry the cross.
Golgotha" is a Hebrew, the meaning is "skull".
It was given the name because was punishment place, or was the hill shaped like a skull. There seems to be various reasons, but it is a creepy name.
There was a vertical column upright. Jesus was carrying with a crossbar.
He was prayed all night, put on trial and whipped, and at this time Jesus was already exhausted.
The Roman soldier could not bear to see Jesus then,
A certain man from Cyrene, Simon, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing by on his way in from the country, and they forced him to carry the cross. (15:21)

It is written that this man is from Cyrene.
Cyrene is the ancient Greek city which was in the current Libyan territory (northern Africa).
Whether he came out here at the Passover Festival, or in business,
The reason why he was here is unknown. It is a certain person who happened to be the place. And, unfortunately he was found and chosen by Roman soldiers.
This man did not really want to carry the cross used for execution.
The Bible says "
they forced him ". He was forced to carry it unwillingly.

As we happen to be a situation which we may have to be forced to carry things.
But the Bible tells us that this was the blessing of Simon's family.
Not only the Simon’s name, the names of two sons of Simon,
Alexander and Rufus were also written. I think that these two sons were well-known among Christians. Having carried the Jesus’ cross was the beginning to the salvation of their families.
There may be many things would happen reluctantly or unreasonably in our life of faith.
However if that is to help the Lord Jesus (or God), is it going to be fortunate testimony isn’t it?
This is what Jesus says.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. (Matthew 16:24)
